Our Paster

Greetings in the name that is above every other name; Jesus!

The Matthews Murkland Presbyterian Church family cordially invites you to come and see what God is doing in our midst. We are a growing church and we are souled out for the Savior. Our collective aim is to be Visible through our missions, Vibrant in worship, and Viable in ministry.

The Rev. Albert W. Moses has served as an ordained Minister of Word and Sacrament (Teaching Elder) in the PCUSA for over thirty years. He has represented the denomination at every level both locally and nationally. His call to ministry came at an early age while a student at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic School. Pastor Moses received his B.A. degree from Winston Salem State University and Master of Divinity from The Johnson C. Smith I.T.C.

He has served congregations as far south as Key West Florida and as far north as Henderson, North Carolina. His work in the ministry has called him to be a community activist, educator, mediator, mentor, board member, pastor and prophet.

His wife, Rev. Urla Eversley-Moses is also an ordained minister in the PCUSA. They are the proud parents of a daughter Eliana. In addition to his baby daughter Pastor Moses has two adult children.

He believes, “God has not called the church to be a refrigerator to preserve perishable piety but an incubator to hatch converts.” His passion is for people and the proclamation of the Good News.
